TOKYO, July 23, 2026 – Ricoh Company, Ltd. today announced a follow-on investment in ASUENE Inc., a Japan-based sustainability AI company, through the RICOH Innovation Fund, its corporate venture capital fund.
Ricoh is expanding solutions that support the transition to a decarbonized society, part of a broader shift commonly referred to in Japan as green transformation. ASUENE provides services that help companies measure and reduce CO2 emissions and prepare related disclosures, supporting businesses in Japan and internationally in advancing their decarbonization efforts.
Ricoh has worked with ASUENE since its initial investment in June 2024. In 2025, Ricoh Japan Corporation, Ricoh's sales subsidiary in Japan, joined ASUENE in a Tokyo Metropolitan Government program that helps companies develop corporate decarbonization plans. Under the program, the companies combined ASUENE's CO2 emissions measurement service with the Ricoh Group's energy-efficiency assessments and recommendations for reducing energy use to provide ongoing support to participating companies.
The company's collaboration has also expanded internationally. Ricoh Taiwan participates in the Taiwan-Japan Carbon Alliance, established by ASUENE in collaboration with leading organizations in Taiwan's ESG and decarbonization sectors. Leveraging Ricoh's strengths in environmentally conscious design and energy-efficient workplace solutions, Ricoh Taiwan supports the alliance in promoting green procurement and helps businesses access more comprehensive sustainability and decarbonization solutions.
The companies will deepen their collaboration in Japan to support a broad range of customers, including mid-sized and small businesses, in advancing their green transformation. They will also explore opportunities for broader global collaboration and expand solutions that help customers strengthen their sustainability management practices.
“Through this additional investment, we look forward to further deepening our global collaboration with ASUENE and supporting customers in advancing their decarbonization efforts,” said Eiji Suzuki, General Manager, Corporate Planning Center, Corporate Planning Division, Ricoh Company, Ltd. “As expectations for climate action and ESG disclosure continue to rise, we will combine ASUENE's sustainability AI platform with Ricoh's global customer base and decarbonization expertise to provide customers with end-to-end support, from measuring CO2 emissions to implementing reduction measures and preparing disclosures, contributing to a more sustainable society.”
Ricoh made the additional investment based on ASUENE's strong growth potential and the business synergies demonstrated through the companies' collaboration to date and will continue to promote open innovation through the RICOH Innovation Fund and accelerate the creation of new value through collaboration with startups.
