MSCI targets the top 700 Japanese stocks by market capitalization, comprehensively grasps ESG risks from each industry, and selects companies with relatively excellent ESG evaluations. It has been adopted as the ESG investment index of Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund.
S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index
S&P Dow Jones Indices, one of the world's largest independent index companies, builds the index based on the Trucost carbon emissions data. This index targets TOPIX constituent companies that have a high carbon efficiency within the same industry based on market capitalization, and increases the investment weight of companies disclose information on greenhouse gas emissions. It is also a global environmental stock index adopted by GPIF in 2018, and Ricoh has been continuously included in the index since then.
