Regarding discharged matter, measures have been implemented to reduce resource waste and cost, focusing on discharged matter generated during the production of polymerized toners and associated with the thermal media business, as well as the packaging materials used for transportation between production sites inside and outside of Japan. Also, in an effort to minimize the use of water, which as a limited resource has become a major global concern, Ricoh has set Group targets for effective use of this precious resource, thereby helping conserve the global environment.
Efforts are being made on a global scale to reduce the amount of chemical substances used/discharged, based upon the idea of risk management.
In compliance with the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM), the Ricoh Group has established a system to manage the risks of chemical substances by applying a risk evaluation method, aiming to minimize the risk throughout the lifecycle of chemicals and to share related information.
