Diversity & Inclusion and Work-Life Management

Global Initiatives

Global Diversity Committee

In October 2016, the Ricoh Group launched the Global Diversity Project, in which group companies worldwide participate. As One Global Ricoh, we are working to promote Group-wide diversity and inclusion. This initiative led to the establishment of the Global Diversity & Inclusion Statement.

International Women’s Day event

On March 8 of every year, designated as International Women's Day, we hold events to promote women's empowerment in a number of locations. This event, which began in in 2017 and originates from Ricoh Latin America, Inc., has gradually expanded to other regions, providing effective opportunities for employee networking as well as customer engagement and confidence-building.
We also created a video compilation of messages from female leaders from various countries and disseminated it to encourage employees to take on new challenges.

At Ricoh USA "diversity" is much more than just an initiative: it's a way of life. "Diversity is first a matter of ethics, but not only that," says Donna Venable, Executive Vice President, Human Resources at Ricoh USA, Inc. "More and more our valued customers want to know how our sales and services are structured around diversity. They are looking for a partner they are comfortable with. In that sense for us diversity is not just the right thing to do, it also makes good business sense."
Underpinning all Ricoh USA’s diversity initiatives is The Diversity and Social Responsibility Council, which serves as an advisory board to senior management. One particularly powerful initiative, is something called "Supplier Diversity," which is both a strategic imperative and a competitive advantage for the company. Simply put Supplier Diversity consists in seeking and expanding partnerships with minority-owned, small, small-disadvantaged, woman-owned, veteran-owned, service-disabled-veteran-owned and HUBZone small businesses.

<D&I EMEA Statement>
Love your neighbour: The Ricoh Way

Diversity and inclusion are more than just words for us at Ricoh – they are at the very core of our founding principles. In fact, loving our neighbour is part of our DNA.

In EMEA, we believe that all of our neighbours – colleagues, customers, partners and communities – play a vital role in our success. We value their perspectives and celebrate their achievements. We believe that diversity creates innovation and that inclusion drives a sense of belonging.

Together, we are building a culture where all of our colleagues feel that they belong, that they are engaged, and that they are empowered to attain fulfilment through work.
