Environmental data ― Scope 3 GHG emissions for FY2016
At the Ricoh Group, Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions for fiscal 2016 accounted for 83.1% of total emissions.
Within Scope 3, emissions were particularly large from Categories 1, 4 and 11, for which environmental targets have been set to reduce emissions. For Categories 1 and 11, we received third-party verification of calculation results related to reduction efforts from SGS Japan Inc., in order to increase their credibility.

Approach to Calculation and the Calculation Method
In reference to multiple guidelines, we have calculated the amount of emissions based on product life, operation hours, various per-unit emission indices, and emission factors set based on our own data. In the future, we will continually review the calculation method, emission factors, and boundaries to increase calculation accuracy.

Calculation method for each of the categories
| Cat1 | Calculate by multiplying the total amount of purchased resources by the emission factor for each of the materials |
| Cat2 | Calculate by multiplying the annual amount of capital investment by the emission factor |
| Cat3 | Calculate by multiplying annual energy consumption at each base by the emission factors for resource extraction, production and transportation |
| Cat4 | Calculate for the transportation of cargo shipped by suppliers to the manufacturing site and that shipped by the Ricoh Group from the manufacturing sites to customers, by multiplying the actual transportation distance and weight, etc. by the emission factor (excluding emissions included in Scope 1 and 2 totals) |
| Cat5 | Calculate by multiplying by the emission factor the disposal weight of waste from the manufacturing facilities for each type classified in terms of disposal method |
