We found that the RICOH IWB would enable us to concentrate on our main role and encourage smooth and productive meetings.

JX holdings is one of the largest companies in Japan handling oil, coal, natural gas, and nonferrous metal resources. It had been in the process of improving workstyle and productivity with ITC. And when they moved the headquarters to a new building, they decided to use the RICOH IWB to improve collaboration at meetings.

A total of 153 RICOH IWB units have been set up at the headquarters and branches and used for efficient and productive paperless meetings. The customer also created huddle spaces with the RICOH IWB in order to encourage collaboration. With these changes, employees’ mindset and working methods are improving day by day.

Much time and money was required to create handouts before meetings. Preparation time and cost are reduced by minimizing hands-on tasks.
Meeting participants concentrated on handouts and did not listen to explanations or participate in discussion Attendees focus to the RICOH IWB screen, making it easier to achieve mutual understanding. Discussion is encouraged by the annotation feature.
Photos were taken of remarks on the whiteboard and the minutes were created after the meeting. Remarks written on the RICOH IWB during the meeting are saved to a file and then shared by email as the meeting minutes.
Many paper documents were spread across desks and cabinets, making it hard to find the necessary documents. By changing to file sharing, it is easier and faster to find necessary documents, and productivity thus has been improved.

The customer says that it used to be necessary to print documents for meetings and combine those into sets to distribute to the attendees. Since 2,500 employees are working at the headquarters and many meetings are held, much time was spent on those jobs.

Also, since all attendees can focus on the RICOH IWB screen in meetings, they are able to understand information faster and discuss much more than before. Thanks to the full HD high resolution display, it is easy to read even marketing data with many small numbers. Also, the presenter can easily select the necessary page to show out of a large presentation. But, the most beneficial point is ability to annotate on the screen directly. By writing rapidly changing additional data and highlighting, the benefits of analog and digital features can be implemented with the RICOH IWB to encourage smooth communication and collaboration between attendees.

Speed of information sharing too is improved as the file with images from the RICOH IWB can be sent by email soon after the meeting. By utilizing RICOH IWB more and more, we feel that we are improving workstyle and productivity more than ever. Also, the new office implements free address seating and collaboration spaces. So we set up the RICOH IWB in these collaboration spaces to be able to have huddle meetings with a few persons to exchange information, discuss, and make decisions quickly.
