Research Areas

Economics

For global companies to survive, they respond to changes in the global economy, anticipate such changes in a forward-looking manner, and clarify prospects and risks in the economy. Therefore, we will carefully monitor the real economy and financial market developments at home and abroad. At the same time, we will try to understand possible structural changes in the economy over the medium to long term.

Digital & Technology

We will explore trends in digital technologies, assuming such technologies will contribute to solving social issues and enhancing economic growth from a medium to long-term perspective. We will also follow business developments and prospects of global digital companies.

Economic Security

We will try understanding complex international developments and geopolitical risks by utilizing our external networks and knowledge of global economic trends. Based on this, we will explore how corporates should respond to challenges stemming from economic security-related risks from a medium to long-term perspective.

Environmental Management

Environmental management at a corporate level is becoming even more critical as the world strives for sustainable growth through decarbonization and the shift to a circular economy. We will explore future developments in environmental management and their impacts on corporate behavior by considering such factors as international policies and legal and accounting systems.

Corporate Activity

For corporate businesses to continue to grow, it is imperative to respond to various and complex changes that are difficult to foresee. For this purpose, an understanding of multifaceted stakeholders is necessary. We will therefore explore multiple dimensions of corporate behavior, including the mechanisms of corporate valuation, relationships between corporate value and investments in human capital, the role of capital markets in assessing corporate value, trends in business models and corporate structures, and the role of competition policies.

Work Style

What is necessary for workers to be creative, satisfied, and achieve their goals? We will investigate various elements surrounding "work," including people, organizations, and working environments. We will also explore what corporations in general and digital service companies in particular, can do to address challenges surrounding work. We currently serve as the secretariat to the "Consortium for Creativity in the Workplace.”
