The rapid increase in the amount of documents in offices makes document retrieval technology all that more important in locating the necessary document quickly. We have continued research into advanced retrieval technologies and aim to lead the industry in document retrieval technology.
Our original index configuration system featuring high efficiency is used for indexing, which is the key to high-speed retrieval. So that documents can be ranked accurately, we have developed a new technique, which achieves precise retrieval. Further, we are actively researching the technology to make possible user-friendly retrieval by anyone, using natural language input, and selecting query terms and related terms automatically.

In addition to finding documents, the database technology to save mass documents safely and securely and to use them efficiently is important. To this end, we are researching and developing a new database management system with an eye to improving availability, scalability, security and portability. The system makes it possible to manage mass documents easily and efficiently, without worrying about operation management.
Research results comprise the database management system for user management and document management in the Ricoh's documentation management system (Ridoc) sevies.

Document retrieval technology and database technology are indispensable wheels to support the intellectual services needed to handle mass documents. We are researching technology that is useful across the whole of document management, combining these wheels we have cultivated.
Our new TRMeister document retrieval server is used as an engine of the RIPWAY patent information retrieval service provided by Ricoh Technosystems Co., Ltd.
