Creating and installing a device certificate, and enabling the SSL/TLS encryption mode

1Log in as the network administrator.

2Press the [User Tools/Counter ]or [User Tools] key.

3Press [System Settings].

4Press [Administrator Tools].

5Press [Down key illustrationNext] or [Down key illustration] until [Program / Delete Device Certificate] appears.

6Press [Program / Delete Device Certificate].

7Check that [Program] is selected.

8Press [Certificate 1].

9Make the necessary settings.

To use the device certificate for S/MIME, PDF Digital Signature, or PDF/A Digital Signature, enter the machine's administrator's e-mail address in the e-mail address setting.

10Press [Exit].

11Press [Interface Settings].

12Press [Down key illustrationNext] or [Down key illustration] until [Permit SSL / TLS Communication] appears.

13Press [Permit SSL / TLS Communication].

14If you are using HTTP connection, select [Ciphertext / Cleartext]. If you are using HTTPS connection, select [Ciphertext Priority].

To disable "TLS1.2", "TLS1.1", or "SSL3.0", log in to Web Image Monitor as a network administrator, and then select [Inactive] for the protocol to be disabled under [Device Management] [Configuration] [SSL/TLS]. At least one of these protocols must be enabled. However, do not enable only "SSL 3.0". Data leaks may occur.

15Press [OK].

16Log out.
