Projector Operation Workflow

Important

  • Sending/receiving, saving, or expanding files may fail if the smart device enters sleep mode during these operations. Ensure that the smart device will not enter sleep mode during these operations.

  • Due to the specification of the operating system, RICOH Smart Device Connector may quit unexpectedly if you try to display a large-size file on the smart device. If this happens, reduce the size or resolution of the file.

1On the menu of RICOH Smart Device Connector, swipe left or right to select [Projector].

2Tap [File Projection].

3Select the location of the file to show on the projector from [Album], [App File Folder] or other locations, and tap [Apply].

4Tap [Projector Settings].

When using the QR code to connect to the projector, check that [Connect with QR Code] is displayed in the upper part of the screen. If a different message is displayed, tap [Application screen illustration], select [Connect with QR Code], and then return the previous screen.

  • Connect with ID Code

When using the ID code to connect to the machine, check that [Connect with ID Code] is displayed in the upper part of the screen. If a different message is displayed, tap [Application screen illustration], select [Connect with ID Code], and then return the previous screen.

  • Connect Machines on Same Network

When connecting to a projector networked with the smart device, the name of the projector is displayed in the upper part of the screen. If a different message is displayed, tap [Application screen illustration], and then select the projector to connect from the list under [Connect Machines on Same Network]. If the projector you want to use is not on the list, tap [Add Machine] and then add the projector by entering its IP address/hostname manually or by searching for the projector.

6Switch the input channel of the projector to [Network PC], and then connect to the projector.

  • When using the NFC to connect to the projector

Tap NFC or hold the smart device over the NFC icon to add the machine.

  • When using the QR code to connect to the projector

Read either of the followings with the camera of the smart device.

  • When using the ID code to connect to the machine

In [Identification Code], enter the four digit identification code that is displayed in the image projected from the projector, and tap [Start].

  • When connecting to the projector on the same network

    Tap [Start].

Note

  • Use the ID code can be used to connect to the projector only when the projector to be connected and the smart device are on the same network segment.

  • Tap [+] while a smart device is connected to a projector to add another connected projector.

  • If the network is disconnected while an image is projected from the projector, check the network status, and then start the projection again.

  • If the projection fails, switch the input channel from [Network PC] to another channel, switch the channel back to [Network PC], and then start the projection again. If the projection continues to fail, turn off the power of the projector, turn it back on, and then start the projection again.
