| This is a photo of a scene taken from an apartment building somewhere in Germany. This location provided the perfect angle for viewing the train tracks, so I just sat and waited for the train to come. This streetscape scene was nice enough as is, but I was able to get a cute little shot by using the Miniature mode. |
 |
 |
| I shot the photo using Miniature mode and Zoom. I also included the date on the photo, so I could keep it as a memento of my trip overseas. |

| I use the Ricoh GX200 as a secondary camera for just over a year and am very satisfied with the results provided to ISO 64 and 100. I love the ergonomics and the possibility of using an electronic viewfinder that provides very complete information, making it easier to keep me in the line of professional photographic work and quality. An excellent camera, no doubt. |
 |
 |
Contrary to my usual work in the Ricoh GX200 with 64 or 100 ISO speeds, this time using ISO 200 because of low ambient light.
Continuing with manual exposure control under the histogram, I used a low speed (1 / 15 sec) and aperture f/2.9, always placed at a diagonal angle of incident light.
The result of this series of photographs about the Catholic church called Santa Capilla de Caracas is the image with large shadows and high rank in the range of grays.
Santa Capilla de Caracas is also an example of the conjunction of human devotion and the strength of religious icons. |

Taking closeup shots on the wide-angle side is interesting, too, but when I have extra time available, I like to try and get closeup shots on the telephoto side.
It's pretty nice being able to save settings for closeups with the telephoto side in My Settings.
The focus for closeups on the telephoto lens side is extremely exacting. Once the focus has been set, I move the camera back and forth and make slight adjustments until I've gotten it to focus on the objects I really want to take pictures of. |

When pictures are taken in B&W mode, if taken in RAW format, color data is also recorded, which helps out a lot. ;)
I took the one recorded in color and turned the WB to Incandescent using software that came with the camera to pull out a bluish hue.
I stood so that my reflection was reflected in the water flowing along the side of the field and took the picture, being conscious of the grass also reflected in the water.
It was evening when I took these pictures, and I feel like the F1.9 capability really saved me. |
