| Just the best little camera to use. Functionality and ease of use make it simple to set up and take photos. The superb lens and portability means you can take images such as this close up of a seed pod as you see it. This type of shot using the EVF in conjunction with the simple to control settings makes it that much more convenient. |

 |
| This photo was taken on our last night on the beautiful Canary Island of Lanzarote. This location was near our villa and is well known to the locals as a great spot to watch the sunset. My wife and I were driving to town for dinner but we saw a glorious sun setting against a clear horizon and we knew we had to turn back to capture it. I set the ISO to 100 for the best picture quality, and selected the manual exposure mode so that I could quicky fine-tune the exposure while the light was fading quickly. I included the people in the foreground to bring life into the picture. |
 |
 |
| On my recent trip to Spain, I took my GR Digital II with me as a companion to my digital camera. My favourite focal length is 35mm, but the 28mm wide-angle lens on the GR Digital proved to be very useful in photographing the huge buildings and spectacular landscapes of Spain. The compactness and the quick handling of the GR Digital also helped me captured several quick shots that otherwise would have been missed if I had reached for my big digital camera. |

Shot of fireworks taken in Long Exposure mode

This picture was taken of a fireworks display at a beach, and I wasn't able to take anything but a pocket tripod. I wasn't able to take pictures of the fireworks using this tripod, however, because shadows from people around it kept getting in the way. So, I ended up leaning against a stake that had been driven into the sand and taking the pictures by hand.
By displaying the image at its original magnification, you should be able to get rid of any blurring. Alternatively, you should also be able to decrease it to a degree that it won't cause any problems by reducing the size of the image. |

| This is a picture of "Hananomiyakou Park" taken near Lake Yamanaka-ko. I turned [Auto Bracketing] ON so that I could get a clear shot of Mt. Fuji. Thanks to this feature, I was able to get a beautiful shot of both the flowers in the park and Mt. Fuji. |
 |
 |
| The photo was taken using pole aerial photography. I attached a long metal pole to the tripod, and then mounted my G600 onto the pole and shot the picture. I set up the camera to take pictures every five seconds using Interval Timer mode. |

| This shot was taken at dusk in the historic town of Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario. My camera was set up on a tripod. I used Manual exposure mode and fixed the shutter speed at one second, with an aperture of f5.6 and the white balance set to automatic. I used 2-second self-timer to trigger the shutter in order to further reduce camera movement. Traffic was sparse. I timed my shutter's release with a passing car so that I could capture a light trail. The image was captured in JPEG with no post-processing. |

Ricoh GX200 is my first professional camera. Small size, superb image quality and advanced DSLR - like modes were reasons for my desicion to choose GX200.
I bought it few days before vacation trip to Israel. I couldn't get it from Finland so I ordered it from Internet store. I red camera manuals in Hotel rooms and spent a lot of time to learn to use camera and take good photos.
I personally and my friends were really impressed with the quality of photos when I arrived back to Finland. It was a joy to got so much positive feedback for vacation photos - even from professional artists and photographers. I feel that Ricoh GX200 made me a serious photographer. :) |

Shot : Caplio GX100 |

 |
| I did not really use anything you could call a special trick when taking the pictures this time. I think that people who have actually been to the Mont Saint-Michel will understand what I mean, but the footing there is rather poor. Even if you just walk normally along the path, you will find yourself getting caught in the mud. I placed a small, lightweight tripod with a height of about 10 cm on top of dirt that appeared to be relatively hard, and after that, it felt like I had the camera do all of the work automatically in interval shooting mode. I was unable to check the liquid crystal display screen because the positioning of the camera was so low, and the GX100 has no leveling instrument attached to it, so keeping the camera in a horizontal position was very difficult. |
 |
 |
This is a photograph I took using the interval shooting function when I went to the Mont Saint-Michel in France last month. I had wanted to take a picture of the image of the Mont Saint-Michel reflecting on the ocean, but the surface of the water along the coast is not very stable due to strong winds. For this reason, I decided to switch and use 15-second interval shooting to take pictures of an ever-changing scene.
Even though the time for the bus for departure had been set and I didn't have much time to take pictures with, I tried persevering for 40 minutes. |

 |
 |
| Ricoh's digital cameras have built-in interval timers. These cameras are ideal for taking "airborne shots" of the ground from the air by attaching the camera to a large kite. I particularly like the R3, R8, GRD, and GX100. |

The movements of flamenco dancing are a lot faster than they seem. In my attempts to shoot flamenco dancing in a way that really reflects the mood of the dance, I came up with the following methods...
*I turned the flash off.
*Instead of trying to get the best shot of the subject's movements, I just kept shooting continuously.
Even though it's out of focus, I feel this shot depicts the mood of flamenco the best out of the dozens of shots I took. Are these considered techniques??? |

Backlighting is not generally considered to be an easy shooting situation, but it creates beautiful delineation with remarkable clarity for photographing plants and other subjects.
Recently I have gradually become more selective with backgrounds when setting up my shots. |
 |
 |
I think Ricoh cameras are special because their tele-macro functions allow me to take three-dimensional shots that utilize blur in a positive way.
The advantage of the GX100 is that it allows me to photograph common subjects in ways that are only possible with this camera. |

| I was working on images for an exhibition that I held in Nov - Dec 08. I was in the city chasing shadows and had this shot composed and ready to go. I was shooting the secretaries etc as they walked through the light. The exposure had to be a critical combination of lo iso, narrow depth of field and a reasonably high shutter speed. I always manually focus as this gives an even faster response time. |

This photo was taken in -33°C conditions. I hope it can be used for future reference when taking aurora shots.
- The battery lasts longer than I expected. It is possible to take over 30 shots in 2 nights (most at a shutter speed of 120 seconds).
- The user-friendliness and compact size of this camera made it convenient to use in the arctic weather conditions.
- I switched the settings around for the ISO and exposure time. It would probably to helpful to have a setting for 90 seconds as well. I recommend checking the shots by viewing them on a computer or TV screen.
- The upper left-hand corner of the image looks white. (This increases with longer exposure times.) Is this image noise typical of the camera model? |

| Vignetting always occurs when using a tele-conversion lens without zooming in to a certain extent. I took an interesting shot by using vignetting on purpose. |

| This shot came out a little too bright at first, so I used a tone curve to adjust the color and contrast. |
 |
 |
I positioned the AF point on the autumn leaves to take this shot.
Thanks to the camera shake correction, this shot came out very well even though I shot it handheld. |

This shot expresses the hope instilled in the thousand origami cranes rising up to the sky.
I used stairs to figure out the best angle. |
