Kimio Tanaka

Kimio Tanaka was born in Kyoto. After making pottery at a Kiyomizu-ware potter, he enrolled in the photography course at Tama School of Art. Following graduation, he became a freelance photographer. His diverse photo genres and subject matter include people, objects, food, landscapes, snapshots, fashion, documentary images, etc. In addition to his long history of shooting car photographs for the major car magazines, he has published many new camera and lens test reports and photography how-to articles in magazines. He has also taught many photography classes and seminars, and since 1987 he has been on the selection committee for the Japan Camera Grand Prix.
Kimio Tanaka's photo exhibitions include "Kyo miyako - Kyoto wo kokoku suru" (Kyo Capital - Advertising Kyoto),   "Italian Classic Car Rhapsody - Mille Miglia 1992," and "A Dream of Kings. He has also created or contributed to many photo books, including:
