QUESTION
Before writing on DVD disc

ANSWER
DVD drive has a necessary information to optimize the writing on DVD disc.

If the DVD drive do not have the information on the DVD disc you are trying to use, it is likely to cause a writing error or a read error if able to write.

In order to avoid such problems, a firmware* upgrade of a DVD drive might be required. Please refer to the DVD drive manufactures' web site.

For example, when writing on DVD-R 8X disc, please check with your DVD drive manufacturer if it supports DVD-R 8x disc or if upgrading of the firmware to support DVD-R 8x disc is available.

* Firmware is a program which controls the drive, stored in the Flash ROM of your drive. The firmware has the necessary information to optimize the writing on DVD media.
