Data Security with Ricoh's original Encryption Technology

'EncryptEase' uses the unique Ricoh hybrid CD-R technology, stores an encryption application in the ROM section and uses the recordable section for writing user data.

EncryptEase uses Symmetric Algorithm for encryption and decryption, and RICOH original method block cipher, method which divides data into plural blocks, and adapts a key to each block.

It not only protects the data with the password, but with the combination of hybrid technology and Ricoh's original Encryption technology, the high data security is achieved.

Ricoh's original Copy Guard Function

Making the disc unable to be copied cannot be achieved without compromising the wide compatibility of CD-R media.

However, EncryptEase uses the unique Ricoh Hybrid disc copy guard function, which does 'not allow the copied data to be read', ensuring a high level of security and thus maintains high compatibility. Even if the disc has been copied, data cannot be accessed.

Ricoh's new technology includes a 'physical key' in the data, which cannot be copied under any circumstance.

Before accessing the data, the program checks the 'Physical Key' and its authenticity. If the key is identified as 'False', it will stop the operation and protects the data from being read.Even if the disc has been fully copied, the data cannot be read.

Not only is the data protected with the password but also with the hybrid technology and Ricoh's original Encryption technology, ensures a high level of security.

EncryptEase having its own encryption/decryption software in the disc, does not rely on separate software and can be used anytime at anyplace*.

Password and expiry date

Users can set an expiry date for the data in addition to the password. If the date has passed the expiry date, the data on the disc will not be accessible.
