Ricoh Electronics, Inc. Completes Solar System Installation at Headquarters
The headquarters of Ricoh Electronics, Inc. (REI) in Tustin, Calif. has completed the installation of a rooftop solar energy system. To commemorate the installation, an opening ceremony was held on February 9, 2011.
The system will supply up to 10 percent (approximately 350,000 kWh) of the headquarters’s electricity. The system will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 98.1 metric tons/year, and will provide REI with an annual electricity cost savings of more than $56,000.
REI employees were honored to be joined by Junichi Ihara, Consulate-General of Japan in Los Angeles, and Jerry Amante, Mayor, City of Tustin for the celebration, along with members of partner companies that helped to establish the system.
