World First IEA/DSM "Copier of the Future" Award Winner

In November 1999, Ricoh won the International Energy Agency's(IEA's) Demand-Side Management(DSM) Award of Excellence in the "Copier of the Future" Division for its energy-conservation technology. The IEA is a sub-organization of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD). Ricoh was the world first winner of this award in copier division.
The reason of winning the award is that Ricoh technology satsified high level criteria which enabled the minimization of copier energy consumption during its no-operation status and achieved easy operation, which respond to the customer needs.
"Copier of the Future" Award
This is an international program, which is a part of the "Copier of the Future" pilot project by IEA, in cooperation with the Energy Star Program of the US Environmental Protection Agency. This program had been announced in September 1998 and its purpose of this award was to increase energy saving equipment.
