Ricoh is switching the power source of its billboard installed on the roof of the San-ai Dream Center Building at the Ginza 4-chome crossing in Tokyo to private power generation by solar and wind power, making it a 100% eco-powered electronic billboard. Completion is scheduled for the end of August 2014.
Ricoh was recently included among “Bronze” class companies based on a sustainability evaluation by RobecoSAM, a well known SRI (Socially Responsible Investment) research company. On June 24th, Mr. Daniel Wild, member of the Executive Committee at RobecoSAM, visited Ricoh headquarters and presented a Bronze trophy to Simon Sasaki, Corporate Executive Vice President and General Manager of Environmental Sustainability Management responsible for both CSR and environment.
Ricoh today announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Ricoh Americas Corporation a 2014 ENERGY STAR Award winner for Excellence in Energy Efficient Product Design for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by designing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about energy efficiency. Ricoh’s accomplishments will be recognized in Washington, D.C. on April 29, 2014.
Ricoh Singapore was awarded the Special Mention Green Champion Award at the International Singapore Compact CSR Awards 2013, with the award ceremony held on September 3.
