imagio Neo220/270 series receives the Energy-Conservation Center Chairman's Prize
On January 31, 2002, the imagio Neo220/270 series (Aficio 1022/1027 overseas) was awarded the Energy-Conservation Center Chairman's Prize by Japan's Energy-Conservation Center (ECC). This is one of the prestigious ECC awards that were initiated in 1990 to acknowledge companies that save energy or materials or develop systems that contribute to conservation.
Ricoh picked up this year's prize for loading the imagio Neo220/270 series with the energy-saving QSU (quick start up) technology. This series of low and middle range copiers is extremely popular and is a very big seller. With its effective energy consumption of only 29Wh/h, the imagio Neo220/270 series is the most energy-efficient copier in the industry.
The Energy-Conservation Center Chairman's Prize is awarded to equipment or systems that feature excellent energy or resource saving. It is presented once a year to promote the development and distribution of energy-saving equipment.
There were 93 candidates for this year's awards. A panel of judges, including academics and environmental specialists, used quantitative analysis techniques to evaluate the environmental performance of the candidates and decide the winners.
