Local high-school students observe Zero-Waste-to-Landfill activities at REI in the US

Seventy high-school students and teachers in Newport Beach, where Ricoh Electronics, Inc. (REI: California, US) is located, visited REI on January 11 to observe Zero-Waste-to-Landfill activities carried out there.
The visit consisted of explanations about 5R (reduce, refuse, return, reuse, and recycle) activities carried out at REI and some other matters. Some of the students said, "I hope to work for a company like REI in the future"; "I want to introduce 5R activities into my daily life"; or "I would like you to give information about REI's activities to students of other schools, as well." We were thus able to share our environmental activities with people in the local community.
