Ricoh Electronics, Inc. Supports Zero-Waste* Activities of Its Suppliers
Triple A Containers, which is one of the suppliers of Ricoh Electronics, Inc. (REI), Ricoh's production arm in the United States, introduced REI's zero waste promotion program on August 23 and held a kickoff event on the same day.
Under the zero waste promotion program, REI, which had already realized zero waste in 2000, asks its customers and suppliers to learn about the process and effects of promoting global environment preservation and to actually promote zero-waste activities.
At the formal initiation of the program, the REI staff member in charge of environmental issues presented Mr. Brad McCroskey, president of Triple A Containers, with a commemorative glass plaque.
We promised to visit the company again in six months to confirm improvements and give advice.
Triple A Containers, headquartered in Cerritos, California, supplies REI with packages for copy machines and consumables, such as corrugated cardboard, and pallets.
* Zero waste means a recycling rate of 100% and zero waste to landfill.
