Ricoh Given AAA in TECO's Environmental Rating
On March 24, Tohmatsu Evaluation and Certification Organization (TECO) Japan gave Ricoh a AAA, its highest environmental rating.
TECO rates companies that publish annual environmental reports. There were 501 companies nominated in 2005. The rating is based on the latest issue (fiscal 2004) of companiesEenvironment reports, and the information is disclosed on official websites. Ricoh was recognized for its efforts in establishing a system of gathering global environment-related information and reducing greenhouse gases.
There were only two companies that were given a AAA rating, Toyota and Ricoh. The latter was promoted from AA in the previous year.
Rating Standards
TECO's ratings are based on seven aspects, e.g., efforts in addressing environmental issues, countermeasures against soil pollution, reliability of the company's measures, and the quality of the company's environmental report.
