Ricoh Ranks 17th in UNEP Sustainability Evaluation Survey.
Ricoh ranked 17th out of 50 major international companies in a survey of corporate sustainability and environmental reporting, conducted jointly by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and British environmental consultancy SustainAbility Ltd. The results of the survey, released on November 18, covered environmental, economic, and social sustainability of company operations.
The survey was conducted by SustainAbility Ltd. and UNEP Division of Technology, Industry and Economics. It evaluated corporate sustainability and environmental reports prepared by 50 large international companies. Ricoh scored 87 points out of a possible 196 to earn it the top spot among Japanese companies and electronics companies surveyed, and 17th place overall.
Unlike earlier environmental reports, recent sustainability reports set concrete targets and introduce approaches for sustainable development in economic, social, and environmental areas.
