Ricoh Group Becomes Triple Winner in Toyo Keizai Inc.'s Fifth Environmental Report
The Fifth Green Reporting Award was announced on April 15, and the Ricoh Group came out a triple winner taking: Second Prize; Established Reporter Prize for the "Ricoh Group Sustainability Report 2001"; and Prize for Site Report for the "Ricoh Fukui Plant Sustainability Report 2001."
The Green Reporting Award is organized jointly by Toyo Keizai Inc., and the Green Reporting Forum. It was established to improve awareness among Japanese businesses for information disclosure on environmental activities. The Prize is awarded for the best environmental report of the year.
In addition to the Second Prize, the Ricoh Group won the Established Reporter Prize, which is given to companies that "publish outstanding reports on a continuing basis." Ricoh Fukui won the Prize for Site Report for the second year. It is unprecedented for a single group to win three prizes. The top prize went to the Seiyu, Ltd.
The awards ceremony took place at the Tokyo Kaikan on May 8. Details on the screening and judges' comments are scheduled to be featured in the Weekly Toyo Keizai's May 7 issue.
