Amount of Environmentally Sensitive Substances Used and Emitted in Fiscal 2007
| (1) PRTR Substances at the Ricoh Group |
Units: t |
 |
| * |
The table lists PRTR substances at the Ricoh Group.
It lists substances that are handled in amounts of at least 1t per year
in the case of Class I Designated Chemical Substances or at least 0.51t
per year in the case of Specific Class I Designated Chemical Substances.
Metal compounds are listed based on the equivalent amount of metal. |
| *1. |
The following formulas are used to calculate amount
used and amount emitted of substances subject to reduction at Ricoh.
Equivalent amount used = ∑ { (amount handled - amount consumed) x environmental
impact coefficient}
Equivalent amount emitted = ∑ { (amount emitted to atmosphere + amount
emitted to public water areas + amount emitted to soil) x environmental
impact coefficient } |
| *2. |
The amount emitted is the total of amount emitted
to atmosphere, amount emitted to public water areas and amount emitted
to soil. |
Changes in the Amount Used and Discharged of Ricoh Target Substances for
Reduction
(2) The Ricoh Group (production)

 |
| * |
The Ricoh target substances for reduction are
defined as the PRTR substances designated by four electric/electronic
industrial associations in Japan between fiscal 1998 and fiscal 2000.
Coverage of chemical substances by Ricoh may differ slightly from those
provided by the PRTR Law. As for the uses and emissions of respective substances, please refer to the chart above (1) PRTR Substances at the Ricoh Group. |
Changes in the Amount of NOx, SOx and BOD
(3) The Ricoh Group (production)

 |
| *3. |
Represents total emissions directly released into
public-use water areas. |

Graphs (2) and (3) do not include data for Ricoh
Printing Systems, Shanghai Ricoh Digital Equipment, and Yamanashi Electronics. |
