Ricoh practices environmental business management and is rated AAA, the highest score in the environmental ranking. But it is merely one of the results. |
 |
In the rising social interest in the company that conducts business management in consideration of the environment, Ricoh received in June this year the highest score AAA in the photography/business equipment division in the "environmental ranking" run by U. S. Innovest Strategic Value Advisors Corporation, an international investment research company.
Innovest analyzes the environmental performance of a company from new aspects of environmental efficiency and sustainability, and gives environmental ranking. Ricoh is acknowledged because it practices "environmental business management" that harmonizes environmental conservation and business management at a high level and places it on the basis of business strategy.

Also appreciated is the point that Ricoh, in order to contribute to the earth environmental conservation, grasps the environmental impact of its overall business activities, targets their effective reduction and develops its global activities. An example is that it has developed the world's first innovative energy saving technology and incorporated it to the latest popular digital multifunction machine. Through popularizing its products worldwide, environmental impact reduction of overall society is targeted. Further, in order to have the result of these activities reflected in the business management, Ricoh has developed environmental accounting as a scale. Its use will enable Ricoh to strive for higher quality environmental business management.
We have thus received international evaluation. But we consider it a mere result, because there is no end to environmental conservation activities. In order to transfer this beautiful earth to the next generation and thereafter, Ricoh, as an earth citizen and as a business will grasp environmental conservation activities and business management on the same axis and will pursue "environmental business management".
