- Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 (WS) does not detect the MP8040SE.
- Does the drive support Windows 2000 pro / Me?
- OS recognizes there are several MP8040SE. What is wrong?
- OS does not detect the SCSI adapter from Device Manager.
- When writing to a CD is it necessary to disable the resume function or screen saver?
Windows 95/98/NT Workstation (WS) does not detect the MP8040SE.
| 1. | Check to see if the SCSI host adapter is correctly installed. With Windows 95/98 check under 'Device Manager'. In the case of NT. 4.0 (WS), confirm this under 'SCSI Adapter' in Control Panels. |

Does the drive support Windows 2000 pro / Me?
The drive in itself support both of the Windows 2000 pro and Window Me. Refer the following for the RICOH PCMCIA SCSI card bundled with the unit.For Windows Me:
Set card bus mode and use the SCSI card driver for the Windows 98, which is contained with the FD comes with the unit.
For Windows 2000 pro:
Use the SCSI card driver for the Windows 2000 pro, which is available at our download page.
NOTE: Your writing software must also support the Windows Me/2000 pro. Please check the compatibility between your software and the OS. I am afraid we do not have any service to provide the software upgrade. If your software does not support your new OS, you will have to purchase another writing software on the field. Or please consult with your distributor for further assistance.

Is the SCSI card correctly installed?In case setting as Card Bus mode, please ensure if your Note PC support Card Bus mode or contact with your PC manufacturer about it. If not supporting Card Bus mode, use in 16 bit mode. About the way to change setting, please refer the user's manuals.
MP8040SE is not recognized by Windows NT 4.0 (WS). Is there something wrong with the drive?
Please check the following.- Go to Control Panels - PC card (PCMCIA), and then check to see the controller name after double clicking Controller tab.
When writing to a CD is it necessary to disable the resume function or screen saver?
Depending on the writing software, some disable these functions while writing. We would recommend to disable these functions to avoid any unexpected error.Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 (WS) does not detect the MP8040SE.

- If your SCSI card supports the Windows 2000 pro / Windows Me.
- f your writing software supports the Window 2000 pro / Windows Me.
