During start-up none of the devices connected to the secondary IDE bus are recognized.
| 1. |
Ensure that both ends of the ATAPI cable are properly connected. One end must be connected to the secondary IDE slot in the motherboard and the other end to the ATAPI interface of the drive. |
| 2. |
Ensure that the connector is fully seated. Most ATAPI cables are marked with a red line to indicated the position of pin 1. Ensure that the connector orientation is correct. |
| 3. |
Check the Jumper Pin setting. (Never use the CSEL option, choose between Master or Slave.) |
| 4. |
Check if the secondary IDE bus is enabled within the PC BIOS. |
| 5. |
Check the ATAPI cable length. The cable should be maximum of 18 inches (457 mm) in length. |
| 6. |
Check to see if there are any bent pins in the connectors. |
Are there special device drivers for Windows95/98/NT?
The MP7060A uses a standard Windows drivers for ATAPI CD-ROM Drives, so no special drivers are required. As the MP7060A will only be recognized as a CD-ROM drive, in order to record CDs, writing software must also be installed.
The MP7060A is not detected by the BIOS but the OS can detect the drive. Is there something wrong with the drive?
If the OS detects the MP7060A, there is no problem with the drive.
Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 (WS) does not detect the MP7060S.
| 1. |
Check to see if the SCSI host adapter is correctly installed. With Windows 95/98 check under 'Device Manager'. In the case of NT 4.0, confirm this under SCSI Adapter in Control Panels. If the SCSI host adapter is not installed, consult with the manufacturer of your SCSI adapter. |
| 2. |
Ensure that each SCSI device has a unique SCSI ID number. (Refer to the users manual on instructions on how to change the SCSI ID.) |
There are more than one MP7060S in Device Manager. What is wrong?
The SCSI ID for MP7060S is configured as same as the ID for SCSI host adapter. Usually most SCSI host adapter's factory setting is ID 7.
When writing to a CD is it necessary to disable the resume function or screen saver?
Depending on the writing software, some disable these functions while writing. We would recommend to disable these functions to avoid any unexpected error.
