What kind of media can be used?
The MP5120A can be used with CD-R, CD-RW (1-4x), HighSpeed CDRW (4-10x) and DVD+RW media.

Which OS is supported?
The drive itself supports Windows 95 (OSR2), Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, Windows 2000 professional, and Windows XP.
TO use the drive, however, the software must also supports the OS. Informaition on the compatibility between the bundled software for the RICOH Asian retail package and the OS is here.
If you are using another writing software package, please be sure to check the compatibility between the software and your OS, and between the software and the MP5120A. For details please ask the software supplier. |

How many times can I rewrite with DVD+RW media?
About 1000 times. |

Can the MP5120A write on DVD+R (plus R) media? Or is there any firmware upgrade for it?
The MP5120A DVD+RW drive cannot write to DVD+R media. There is no firmware upgrade available to allow the MP5120 to support DVD+R media. |

Can the MP5120A write on DVD-RW (hyphen/dash RW) media?
Not supported. DVD-RW media (hyphen/dash RW) differs from DVD+RW media (plus RW). Each of them has a different standard. |

Can I use this drive as an external drive? Or are there any other external models?
Only an internal ATAPI model is available. This is designed to be used as an internal model. |

Can I connect this drive to a note PC?
No. It is designed only for use with a desktop PC that has a free IDE interface. |

My PC is a slim-type desktop model. Can I connect this drive to this computer?
For connecting the drive, one free 5-inch bay is required. Please consult your PC manual. |

Can I use it under another OS like Linux, UNIX, or Macintosh?
This drive is designed to be used only with the Windows OS. We do not provide any support for Linux, UNIX, or Macintosh. |
