FAQ for DVD/CD Media

EncryptEase

QUESTION
I plan to use an "EncryptEase" disc in a Windows XP environment. I am wondering if users without OS administrator rights can use it.

ANSWER
When writing to the disc:
When writing to the disc for the first time, the PC needs to be logged in with administrator authority, in order to install the necessary files (driver).
Restart the PC when the installation process has completed. After the restarting, the PC can be logged in as any user rights.

When extracting the written data to a hard disc drive:
If you have already used the Encryptease with the PC;
The driver is already installed, the user can login with any user rights. All that is required is to enter the password that has been set up for the 'EncryptEase' disc.

If the PC is used for the first time with EncryptEase,
Windows 2000/XP
* log in as administrator;
All you need to do is enter the password that has been set up for the 'EncryptEase' disc.
* log in as limited user;
before extracting the data to the hard disc, the PC must have the driver installed. In order to install the driver the user must be logged in with administrator authority.
Once the driver is installed, the EncryptEase disc can be used with any user level. All that is required is to enter the password that has been set up for the "EncryptEase" disc.

Windows 98SE/Me
* log in with any user level;
All you need to do is enter the password that has been set up for the 'EncryptEase' disc.
