Update method for MS-DOS, Windows3.1

Upgrade Procedure

1. Prepare one empty, formatted floppy disk.
2. Copy the downloaded file to an empty directory, and run RWT240DS.EXE to extract the contents.
3. Copy the files created in step 2. To the floppy disk.
This creates a Firmware Download disk.

Running RWT240DS.EXE should create the following files:
LDSDVE08.EXE/ PROG.DEF/ SS240803.BIN/ JHISTORY.TXT/ EHISTORY.TXT
4. The following hardware is required:
5. Connect the host computer to the MP6200S, then after making the following settings, start MS-DOS or Windows 3.1 on the host computer.
6. Confirm that the ASPI Manager (Adaptec) is listed in the Config.sys file, on a line such as the following (in this case, for the AHA-1510):
7. Downloading the Firmware to the drive.
[MS-DOS]

1) Insert the Firmware Download floppy into the host computer floppy drive.
2) Type "A:" and press the Enter key (if the host computer floppy drive is "A:").
3) Type "LDSDVE08" and press Enter,
4) The previous step should bring up this display.
(the following assumes the CD-RW drive is SCSI ID 1):

This program rewrites the firmware of the CD-R drive.
There is no further warning... Are you sure?
Hit any key. (Cancel = ESC key)

5) Press Enter to write the new firmware program to the drive. The following messages appear.
Unlocking the program loader protection.
Erasing the contents of the flash ROM.
Completed reading the firmware from the file...
Loading the program to the flash ROM.

6) Several seconds after the above message appears, the following is displayed if the process was successful.
Firmware update completed.

7) When you power on again, the firmware download procedure is completed.

[Windows3.1]

1) Insert the Firmware Download floppy into the host computer floppy drive.
2) Select Program Manager / File / Run.
3) In the Command Line box enter "A:\LDSDVE08.EXE" and select OK.
4) The previous step should bring up this display.
(the following assumes the CD-RW drive is SCSI ID 1):

5) Press Enter to write the new firmware program to the drive. The following messages appear.

6) Several seconds after the above message appears, the following is displayed if the process was successful.
Firmware update completed.

7) When you power on again, the firmware download procedure is completed.
Regarding the changed record of firmware, please refer to EHISTORY.TXT

Download of a firmware is an end above.

NOTE-

If the firmware download does not complete correctly, check the following items.
1. Is the terminating resistor installed correctly?
2. Is the SCSI cable length not more than 6 m?
If after checking items 1.to 2.above the firmware download still does not complete correctly, contact the supplier octly?
3. Is the SCSI cable length not more than 6 m?
If after checking items 1.to 2.above the firmware download still does not complete correctly, contact the supplier of the MP6200S.
