Ricoh is committed to solving social problems through its core business in order to contribute to the development of a sustainable society.
As a global company, we are eager to make contributions toward achieving of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and to supporting community development efforts in developing countries.
Ricoh has been supporting young people, who will be next-generation leaders, to be all they can be. In India, where the number of children is the largest in the world, there are many children who either cannot go to school or cannot finish primary education. This problem is caused by a range of factors, including a lack of awareness about the importance of education, low-quality educational services and lack of necessary infrastructure and supplies. In order to help improve the situation, Ricoh is making contributions to education in India in cooperation with Save the Children, in the context helping the country achieve further development.
We believe in supporting schools through providing our products, such as our digital duplicators.
Schools can use digital duplicators for a range of purposes, such as creating learning materials, communicating with parents and local communities, and sharing information among teachers and schools as well as governmental agencies. We will therefore donate digital duplicators to schools in India to help them promote learning and information sharing, while helping children, teachers, local communities and governmental agencies enhance their abilities to build an educational network .
Through this program, we aim to enable more children to go to school continuously and to help local communities improve their local educational standards in an independent and consistent manner.
