Target and Actual Figures for Employees Obtaining Certification
*The target of 3,000 by fiscal 2008 was
calculated based on the Fire and Disaster
Management Agency's guideline of more
than 30% of all employees.
IT service provider Ricoh Technosystems conducts business activities (equipment maintenance and proposals for improving administrative tasks) closely related to the local community using its people and technology at 410 locations run by 14 branch offices nationwide. RTS believes that social contribution activities should consist of "all employees contributing to society by doing whatever they can." For example, RTS has constant opportunities to interact with local communities because roughly 5,000 CEs* nationwide travel from one destination to the next by car. Using the characteristics of this business activity, we devised a company-wide standardized program to help society by offering emergency lifesaving assistance, and we want all employees to pass the emergency technician's exam. One Ricoh employee who passed this exam actually saved a life. Ricoh will also offer continuous training so that employees who passed the exam will retain their life-saving skills.
