In 1985, the Company's RINKS integrated production management system won the Okochi Memorial Production Award.

To shorten lead times from order taking to delivery, Ricoh introduced an internal kitting method for efficient packing and delivery; optional devices are attached at the factory and specifications are changed accordingly. Instead of using cardboard boxes and polystyrene foam, reusable racks are used for delivery. In addition to reduced environmental impact, this method helps reduce lead time and enhances customer satisfaction.
