What makes a great photograph?

A simple but enchanting facet of our everyday world. A precious moment in the tapestry of life. A history-making event captured for posterity ... Right now, somewhere, someone has just taken a great photograph. And as a manufacturer andmarketer of cameras, we feel fortunate to be at the heart of photography.

Regardless of where it was shot or what kind of camera was used, a photographic image can have mysterious power — a power that often gains strength with the passage of time.Yet in the world of digital cameras, the pace of innovation and the race for new products make it easy to lose sight of what is truly important in photography. That is why we want to build the new PENTAX RICOH IMAGING around a dynamic dialogue with customers — constantly asking the difficult questions of what makes a great photograph and what makes a great camera.

When we see photographs that move us, we know our efforts have not been in vain. The cameras we make may be small, but we have big hopes for them to create images of impressive beauty and drama. It is a challenge, an honor, and a responsibility that we do not take lightly.
