Ricoh Americas Corporation's headquarters
in New Jersey and Georgia have been inviting
employees' children to visit their parents'
offices to help them better understand their
parents' work. At one such event in April
2008, employees and their children engaged
in volunteer work to spread the word about
the company's CSR efforts.
Employees from the New Jersey headquarters and their children prepared
decorations, created banners, copy and
collated brochures for an organization that
utilize the power of art and music to heal
children who have experienced trauma,
loss, or have been diagnosed with a serious
illness or disability.
At the Georgia headquarters, employees
and their children prepared camping
care packages for an organization that
provides summer camping programs to
underprivileged children.
These events, which are aimed at getting
children to recognize the importance of helping others, were very well received
by parents and children alike, and laid
the foundation for children to continue to
engage in volunteer work. |
