Li-ion/polymer Battery Protection ICs

Ricoh's Li-ion/polymer battery protection ICs have been released to the market since 1995, when the Li-ion rechargeable batteries became available. Ricoh has nearly 20 years of experience developing these products. These protection ICs protect batteries provide features like over-charge/discharge voltage, excess charge/discharge current and short circuit.
Ricoh has a wide product portfolio of 1cell protection ICs for smartphones and tablets, 2cell protection ICs for DSLR and portable DVD players, multi cell protection ICs for electrical power tools and E-bike and 2nd protection ICs for notebook PCs and electrical power tools.

1cell Li-ion/polymer Battery Protection IC Products Lineup

Ricoh's 1cell Li-ion/polymer battery protection ICs have a high detection accuracy. Especially R5470K/R5471K Series have an ultra high accuracy over-charge detection of ±10mV in a temperatutre range from 0℃ to 50℃. R5480K Series have an ultra high accuracy excess discharge current detection of ±15% (±4.5mV to 7.2mV).

Improved current sense accuracy is possible regardless of the MOSFET On-Resistance, even if considering the temperature characteristics by external resistor R3. (Excess current threshold of R5480K is ±15% (±4.5mV) at detector threshold 0.030V)
