The R5C811 (1slot) / 812 (2 slots) is a single chip
solution
offering three PCI functions (PCI bus bridge to a PC Card,
an SD
Card, and a Memory Stick).
In addition to the functions of our existing products
(R5C485/486), support for SD Card and Memory Stick has
been
implemented in the R5C811/812. Therefore, the R5C811/812
allows system designers to flexibly configure systems
necessary
to interface with multiple Flash Memory Cards.
The RICOH PC Card/Flash Memory Card/IEEE1394
Controller
series has got a variable lineup with different slot counts and
packages. The R5C811/812 can share a PCB (printed circuit
board) with the R5C841/842.

| In addition to the functions of our existing
products (R5C485/486), support for SD
Card and Memory Stick has
been implemented in the R5C811/812. The
R5C811/812 supports Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Native SD Card
Driver, and RICOH provides a dedicated driver for Memory Stick. This saves system designers the trouble of
developing a driver, which leads to reduction in the time required for designing. |
| Due to the originally developed hardware design, power consumption during Suspend
mode has been drastically reduced. |
